Closeboard Fencing in Farnborough

Closeboard uses vertical feather edge boards fixed to horizontal arris rails between posts. Each board overlaps the next to form a continuous face, giving privacy without the thin frames of standard panels.

This construction is also known as featheredge fencing. Individual boards can be replaced if damaged, without removing the whole section, making future maintenance more straightforward.

Building in place lets us adjust the height and line to changes in ground level. That matters on a sloping boundary where standard panels might otherwise leave a gap or an awkward step.

Concrete or pressure-treated timber posts support the run, with gravel boards to keep the fence clear of wet soil. A capping rail helps shed rainfall from the tops of the boards.

For a Farnborough property needing privacy, closeboard creates a consistent timber backdrop to patios and planting. It suits both established gardens and new boundaries, with stain or preservative options for later upkeep.
